Day 7Day 6 - Genesis 21-23
Genesis 21 is about the Birth of Isaac and his weaning, which leads to the sending away of Hagar and Ishmael. Hagar speaks to the Angel of the Lord and HE provides for them.
Genesis 22 is God tests Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his only son, the son through Sarah, the son of the promise. And because Abraham believes that God said HE would be a blessing through Isaac and be the father of nations through Isaac, Abraham knew that, since God cannot lie, HE was still going fulfill HIS promises through Isaac and Isaac would still be around to fulfill those promises. In faith, Abraham was obedient.
In Genesis 23, Sarah passes on, and Abraham purchases a burial site from Ephron son of Zohar, in the presence of all the Hittites. The burial site is the cave of Machpelah. He also purchases the file and trees around it.
